Sharing Web Resources ( Part II )

On the website for Global Fund for Children, the section on Theory of Change really speaks to me in a professional sense. It details the impact, the long-term outcomes, intermediate outcomes, outputs, and inputs. "The wellbeing of children and youth is improved, especially those who are most disadvantaged, vulnerable, and marginalized" (GFC, 2021). The impact of the group means that children and youth are given opportunities that otherwise they would be missing.

The section on initiatives made me think about issues as a whole in different ways. It's easy to say that other countries will go through different challenges from what we face in our own country, but what isn't easy is to actually face what those differences are. The initiatives page discusses things by global but then by regional sections. In Africa, for instance, they have a section for helping to end violence against girls in the west. In Asia, they talk about the child trafficking in India and child labor in Bangladesh. It's easy to think on the fact that everyone is affected by things such as the coronavirus or poverty, but each region also has their own issues that they are dealing with. It makes you think about the bigger picture over all, rather than just what could also affect you in our own community.

On the website, they discuss their model which explores partnerships and how they work. Many partnerships are with groups such as scientists or politicians or leaders that can help the ones heavily working with the kids to make sure that resources are gained and directed where they are needed. It's interesting to see just how wide their net is cast when it comes to finding helpful people to gain the help they need for the children in most areas.

The only new insights that I've seen are just the updates on how they are trying to help out children and families around the world with the current pandemic still hitting hard in every country around the globe. The Global Fund is dedicated to making sure that even with the current crisis, every child and family is helped to the best of their abilities.
